The reporting system integrates data from a SQL Server transaction system and data file exports located on FTP servers. The main user interface is built with an MS Access front end and a scalable back end database from MS Access to MS SQL Server.

We are SQL Server experts and have a vast amount of experience integrating both client-server systems, usually through ODBC, and cloud systems, usually through API’s. We leveraged our years of experience with dozens of data warehouse integration projects to quickly navigate through the Federal Government’s retail transaction system, identify the necessary tables and views, process the data using best practice ETL techniques, and store in the reporting environment.

We contracted to build a complex data warehousing system for a branch of the US Federal Government. Like many companies, they were using a lot of resources bringing together data from multiple sources, manually using Excel. They had a difficult time getting an accurate view of their important business KPI’s.
The initial goal was simply to bring in data from multiple sources, and then provide a canned set of reports: daily, weekly, and monthly. But the client was pleased with our work and requested we develop a custom ad-hoc reporting tool. Technologies involved: MS SQL Server, C#, ETL, FTP processing, MS Access, MS Excel front end.
